Troubadours visit New Lothrop Elementary

NEW LOTHROP – New Lothrop Elementary received a visit from the Troubadours, of the Flint Institute of Music on April 18. The group did a performance titled Harambee, or “Let’s pull together.”

Students from developmental kindergarten through fourth grade listened to a musical rendition of Stone Soup where a town in disarray had to “pull together” to make it a better place for the townspeople to live.

“We love that the Troubadours offer this service to our students,” principal Michelle Barrett said.

“The messages they include in their entertainment are invaluable life lessons. The troubadours always offer a hands-on experience with music, where students are encouraged to get engaged with the presentation,” she added.
