MICHEAL THEODORE SNIDER


 

 

MICHAEL THEODORE SNIDER, of Brant Township, 85, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Mike was born on April 26, 1936 in Saginaw County to the late Alvin L. and Lila (Thomas) Snider. Mike was a 1955 graduate of Chesaning High School. He was married for 53 years to Joan Kuhfeldt, since March 8, 1969. Mr. Snider retired from General Motors Truck and Bus in Flint in 1991 with 34.4 years of seniority. He was a devout Christian and a founding member of the Church of Christ in Chesaning, a member of the Chesaning Chapter of Experimental Aircraft Association, and the United Auto Workers Local #598. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, motorcycle trips and wintering in Florida. He was a small aircraft pilot and built his own airplane, one of the four airplanes he owned in his lifetime.

Surviving are his wife, Joan; children, Angela Carr-Godwin, of Romeo, Alvin Snider, of Florida, Teresa (Duane) Homer, of Ohio, Anthony (Debbie) Snider, of Ohio, Ricky Vincent, of New York, and Kerry (Charles) Varney, of Saginaw; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Snider, of Highland; sister, Debra (Mitch) Kingsbury-Tanney, of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews; and his three cats: Leo, Fluffy and Tiggie. He was also preceded in death by two stepfathers, Elmer Black and Richard Klepi; and two sisters, Donna Bruce and Judie Baker.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
