Our Fall Hours are: Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are closed Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Our Story Hours will begin the first week of October. Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. is a story/ craft time for 2 to 4-year-olds. Please call to register. Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. is a story/craft time for 2 to 6-year-olds. No registration needed for the evening story time.

The adult Book Discussion Group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. The book that will be discussed is Kisses From Katie, by Katie Davis. It is a memoir about Davis moving to Uganda and helping underprivileged children.

We offer computer access, WiFi, copies, and fax service. We also have a genealogy section for researching family history.

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the September story time for ages 2 to 5 is cancelled.

The St. Charles District Library board will meet on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

The adult coloring group will meet on Friday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Monday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. Anyone who would like to volunteer with the Friends of the Library is welcome to attend. Please come and join the Friends group. New members are welcome!

The book discussion group will meet on Monday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. at the library.

Masks are recommended for all patrons. Please put all returns in the book drop. All returned items are being quarantined for three days.

Library hours: Monday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice.

The New Lothrop Branch of the Community District Library will host a painting event for kids on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m.

“Join us on the first day of autumn for some fun painting in the library. We will be reading a story, making paint brushes from things found in nature, and making our very own nature inspired paintings,” said branch manager JoAnna Lincoln.

Children should wear clothes they don’t mind staining.

Taymouth Township Library will be hosting an author night at the Burt Opera House on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. Author Bevin Cohen is an herbalist, gardener, seed saver and educator. His newest book is titled “The Artisian Herbalist: Making Teas, Tinctures and Oils at Home.” Everyone is welcome. The opera house is located at 12888 Nichols Road, Burt.
