We are fully open – no appointment necessary. Summer Hours are: Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are closed Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Please wear a mask unless fully vaccinated. We still offer curbside service for your convenience.

The library board will be meeting at the library on Wednesday, June 16. The Adult Book Discussion Group will meet at 7 p.m. that day as well. The group will meet outside, so please bring a chair. This month’s book is The Mars Room by Rachel Kushner.

Sign-up for our Children and Teen Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 14. Children must read for 10 hours and teens must read 1,000 pages between June 14 and Friday, July 30 to be eligible for a free pass to the Saginaw County Fair. Other prizes will also be given away. We appreciate Lippert Components and all the other businesses who have helped us.

There is a special on non-resident cards for the month of June and July. Purchase a card for $40 for a year instead of $50. Residents of Chesaning township pay an average of $50 per year to the library.

Effective June 1, the library is open Monday thru Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (closing 15 minutes early for cleaning and sanitizing). The library building is open to the public; maximum building occupancy of 20 patrons at any given time. We ask that if you are sick, have a cough or fever, do not enter the building. We ask that all patrons limit their visit to no more than 30 minutes. Sanitizing will be done after every patron leaves the building. Patrons will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering and browsing.

Please place all returns in the outdoor book drop until further notice. All returned items must be quarantined for three days before being checked in and returned to the shelves.

Patrons have 24/7 access to our website and all electronic resources.

Taymouth Township Library will begin the children’s summer reading program on Monday, June 14. This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales.” All children ages 0-17 are eligible to participate. The program will end on Friday, July 23. All programs will be held outdoors. We have several prizes, take-and-make crafts, and goodie bags just for signing up. If you prefer curbside service, that is still available. Please bring your kids to the library the week of June 14 to sign up for the program. We are located at 2361 E. Burt Road, across from the Taymouth Township Park. The 2021 Summer Reading Program theme is “Tails & Tales” and it began on Sunday, June 6. The eight-week program is for preschool through 12th grade. Participants may use the Beanstack app or the activity log books they receive at signup, to record their daily reading and earn prizes.

The New Lothrop Branch of the Community District Library is holding a used book sale now through Thursday, June 17. “This is our Kickoff to Summer Reading Sale. We have something for everyone,” said branch manager JoAnna Lincoln.

Visit the library during normal operating hours to find your bargain. The library is open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
