JOHN GOULD


 

 

JOHN GOULD, of Chesaning, 75, passed away early Saturday morning, November 20, 2021 at his home. John was born in Saginaw on January 23, 1946. He grew up in Saginaw before moving to Brady Township. He attended Webber School in Saginaw. He had been a resident of Brady Township. for over 50 years, living in the home he had built himself. John was a retired self-employed brick and stone mason. He was good with his hands, and worked on several projects in the Chesaning and Saginaw area. In 2007, he retired from General Motors after working 29 years in the maintenance department. John was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed reading his Bible. He had an interest in old cars and would rescue cats, sometimes having to bottle feed the new litters. He was a “historian” of the City of Saginaw and knew lots of its stories and gladly shared them with others. John was also a collector of items made in Saginaw.

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Lois) Gould, John (Wendy) Gould and Melissa (Erik) Haistings; grandchildren, Amy Coss, Christine (Bill) Tarrant, Jenni Porter, Travis Gould, Kayla (Chad) Gould-Rulison, Kassi (Ryan) Lewis and Jessica Blaisdell; great-grandchildren, Joshua Coss, Mark, Alex and Amber Tarrant; Paige and Danielle Wenzlick, Nesiah Arbogast, Izzabella Taylor and Aliyah Stringer; brother, Michael (Shawn) Gould; sisters, Barb Green and Mary Walker; sister-in-law, Cindy Gould; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and cherished friendships. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Gould; and a great-grandson, Brandon Wenzlick. Special thanks to Brenda Radabaugh and Jill Peck for the help they gave him. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Pastor Thomas Coe officiated. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw. He was laid to rest next to his grandmother, Toronjo. Charitable donations may be given in memory of John to any local Humane Society or animal rescue group.
