Santa Claus coming to Maple Grove Dec. 11

Santa Claus will be at the Maple Grove Township fire hall, 17010 Lincoln Road, on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Montrose Candlewalk Dec. 4

In the Sunday, Nov. 19 issue, the Tri- County Citizen indicated the wrong date for the Montrose Candle Walk. The correct date is Saturday, Dec. 4, starting at 5 p.m.

Montrose band and choir to present holiday concert

The Montrose Community Schools Band and Choir programs will join together to perform a Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Hill-McCloy High School Auditorium.

Saginaw County Toys for Tots campaign underway

The annual Saginaw County Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign has begun. Toys will be provided for children up to and including age 12. Registration can be through the elementary school offices in St. Charles, Hemlock and Merrill. For more information, contact Jay Gardner at (989) 860-9994.

Participants cannot be registered with any other agency to receive Toys for Tots. They will need current Michigan photo ID and proof of income. They will also need birth certificates or guardianship papers for any children they wish to enroll.

Toys can be dropped locally at Carlton Camping Center, Dollar General, and Union Court Assisted Living in Chesaning; and Arnold Family Chiropractic, Dollar General, Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mercantile Bank, Nativity Lutheran Church, St. Charles District Library, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, State Bank, Union Court Assisted Living and Victorian Purses by Sue. These locations will be accepting toys through Dec. 1.

Chesaning Toys for Kids program returns

The Toys for Kids program is up and running again this year. Chesaning American Legion Post #212 has several collection boxes for new, unwrapped toys at the following locations in Chesaning: Chesaning Ace Hardware, Ed Rehmann and Sons Clothing, Frank’s Supermarket, Garber Chevrolet and Buick, Chesaning Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Broad Street Pharmacy, Chesaning Chamber of Commerce, Citizens Bank, Pintown Pizza and Lanes, Mel Ervin Ford and Dedic’s Bar and Grill in Owosso. Monetary donations can be sent to the Chesaning American Legion Post #212, ATTN: Toys For Kids, P.O. Box 521, Chesaning, MI 48616. The deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Montrose Breakfast with Santa set for Dec. 11

The Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw St., in Montrose, is hosting its annual Breakfast with Santa on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. until noon. This event features a pancake breakfast, face painting, crafts and pictures with Santa Claus. Proceeds of the free-will offering donations will be used to sponsor Montrose children for Christmas. This event is hosted by the Good Shepherd Youth Group.
