CLARENCE “DUTCH” ANGST


 

 

CLARENCE “DUTCH” ANGST, of New Lothrop, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Clarence was born on June 13, 1934 to Joseph and Hedwig (Henige) Angst in Saginaw. He graduated from St. Michael Catholic School. Clarence married Evelyn Wenzlick on November 3, 1962 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove; they celebrated 56 years of marriage last month. Clarence worked as a truck driver for McDonald Dairy for many years. During his life, he enjoyed traveling, playing fast pitch softball, and listening to sports on TV.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Evelyn Angst; his children, Ron (Jill) Angst and Jackie (Bill) Read; his grandchildren, Katy (Dan) Carter, Rachael Read, and Brooke Read; and his siblings, Dallas Angst, Janet Vondrasek, Thomas Angst, and Norman Angst. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Hedwig Angst; his brother, Cletus Angst; his sister, Dorothy Angst; and his brother-in-law, Donald Vondrasek.

A memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Father John Cotter officiated, with burial following at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
