Chesaning High School
Student/Athlete of the Month
SARAH MINNIS is the Student of the Month for March at Chesaning
High School. The senior is the 17-year-old daughter of Ralph and Faith
Minnis, of Burt. She maintains a 3.92 grade point average. She has
received highest honors. She is a member of the Key Club and the Na-
tional Honor Society, and has participated in band for all four years. She
received academic all-state in volleyball, and was second team all-con-
ference in bowling. She also received Superior in Lighting Design from
Chesaning Association of Performing Arts (CAPA). In her spare time, Sarah enjoys paint-
ing and spending time with friends. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of
Michigan to study neuroscience and become a neurologist.

AMANDA NEUMANN is the Athlete of the Month for March at Chesan-
ing High School. The senior is the 19-year-old daughter of John Neu-
mann and Shannon Neumann, both of Chesaning. She maintains a 3.6
grade point average. Amanda has participated in sideline cheer for one
year on JV and three years on varsity. She has also participated in com-
petitive cheer for four years, earning Most Coachable and Most Deter-
mined awards. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has
received high honors. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her friends
and family. After graduation, she plans to attend Northern Michigan University to study
criminal justice.
