Hornets’ Hersch sets pace at Birch Run Fall XC invite

TAYMOUTH TWP. – New Lothrop’s boys came home with first place at the 15-school Birch Run Fall Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Taymouth Township Park.

The Hornets finished with 52 points, led by Carson Hersch who finished first overall with a personal-best time of 17:05. Drew Kohlmann was third in 17:59. Thomas Heslip was ninth in 18:42. Micah Poletti was 14th in 19:07. Gage Ruddy was 25th in 19:33 to round out the scoring positions for New Lothrop.

Also running for the Hornet boys were Aaron VIncke (19:35), Evan Wendling (20:01), Charles Weber (20:02), Noah Wenzlick (20:08), Jason Weber (20:20), Matt Kieffer (20:47), Josh Collins (20:54), Brennan Unangst (21:14), Benjamin Kittel (21:38), Brennan Lienau (21:44), Dominic Poletti (22:33), Charlie Gross (22:51), Landon Miller (23:41), Sam Collins (24:15), Max Spencer (24:26), Zach Sigmund (24:39), Dillan Morell (24:44), Zach Graves (26:58), Corbin Andres (31:41), and Ethan Brunner (31:50).

The Hornet girls finished third with 128 points. Frankenmuth was first with 41 points, led by Gabbie Michael who took first in 19:42.

For New Lothrop, Clara Krupp finished third in 19:56. Chloe Krupp was 22nd in 22:42. Julia Martin was 26th in 22:46. Alan Beckman was 35th in 23:08. Joely Angst was 47th in 23:58 to round out the scoring positions.

Also running for the Hornets were Kendra Gross (24:10), Lindsey Wendling (24:15), Brooke Birchmeier (24:15), Sidney Green (24:33), Lauren Gross (25:10), Madison Wheeler (25:23) Alivia Angst (26:37), Taylor Yaros (27:01), Charlotte Gross (27:13), Danielle Wendling (27:36), Macy Matthews (27:37), Faith Taylor (28:06), Isabel Henige (28:26), Kayla Kieffer (29:14), Kiara Gemalsky (30:11), Kora Krupp (30:33), Malary Thorsby (32:16), Lady Birchmeier (32:18), Elissa Henige (32:44), Anna Miller (33:43), Jillian Rau (35:32) and Samantha Bitterman (37:11).
