See Page 9 for the story. Photos by Jeanne Marcello CHESANING – The Chesaning Kiwanis Club hosted Halloween Camping Weekend at Showboat Park over the weekend of Sept. 28 – 30. During the event, 52 campsites were rented, 86 children participated in the Halloween costume contest and six dogs were entered into the pet costume contest.

The Kiwanis announced the winners of the campsite Halloween decoration competition. The campsite winners of the daytime judging were first place ($50) Bruce and Kelly Gross, and second place ($25), Cathy Ustishen. The winners of the nighttime judging were first place ($50) Kari and Richard Denter; second place ($25) Doug Kirby. The first place ($25) winners of the homemade decorations contest were Jason and Kim Stephens.

Photo by Jeanne Marcello The children’s activities took place on Saturday, with the pumpkin roll, pumpkin decorating, tug-of-war, sack races and the limbo. Chesaning Chamber of Commerce board member Bobbi McIntyre assisted with activities for the children.

The Chesaning Kiwanis Club thanks the Chesaning High School Key Club, National Honor Society, Chamber of Commerce, Chesaning Village DPW and all those who camped over the weekend, making the event a success. Plans for next year’s event are already in progress.

The Chesaning Kiwanis Club meets at the Riverfront Grille every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
