Letters to the editor

Concert organizer thanks attendees, volunteers for support

Dear Editor,

The July 20 and 21 Amphitheater concerts were fun and successful in spite of rain on Saturday that moved the show to St Peter Parish Hall. Jake Slater and Three Men and a Tenor both gave excellent performances.

Thanks to George Detwiler who was MC for both nights, to Brett Russell for providing sound on Friday, to Al and Vera Hundt for the dance floor, to Easton Express Band for assembling the band shell, and for help from family and friends.

The Friday Jake Slater concert opened with the national anthem sung by Destinee Anderson accompanied by the American Legion Color Guard. Destinee sang three additional songs and demonstrated how her talent has progressed since her performance two years ago. Destinee was followed by Jessica Landis, a 14 year old with special vocal talent. Jessica sings during her mother’s guitar lessons for two hours on three days a week. Her confidence and mature voice were impressive. Dancers from Studio 3 performed their routines and also danced with Jake Slater during “Shake Rattle and Roll.” Thanks to all the opening performers.

A special thank you goes to REMAX Tri- County for sponsoring Three Men and A Tenor on Saturday by purchasing tickets and providing a pig roast picnic to their associates and invited guests. Also thank you to Thomas Teal MD and Jeannine Hopfensperger DDS for sponsoring the Easton Express Band. Thanks to ME and The Boys band for opening the Saturday show. Many are already looking forward to the Three Men and a Tenor Show in December at the Lebowski Center in Owosso.
