Blueberry Fest kicks off with annual car show Aug. 12

MONTROSE – The Montrose Blueberry Festival activities will get underway on Sunday, Aug. 12, with the 10th annual Kick-off Car Show in Lions Park, 2014 Park Street.

Registration runs from 8 to 11 a.m., with judging from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. Vehicles arriving after the registration cut-off will be allowed into the show, but will not be judged.

Pre-registration is $12, and $15 the day of the show. T-shirts will be available for $15. Proceeds will be distributed to local non-profit groups through the Blueberry Festival general fund.

Trophies will be given to the top 25 vehicles. Dash plaques will go to the first 50 vehicles registered. There will be two queen’s choice trophies presented, and a grand marshal’s trophy for the best overall vehicle. A new trophy class this year is the Sponsor’s Choice, presented by D.D. Bump N Paint. There will also be an In Memoriam plaque presented by the family of Robert Duncan.

There will also be goody bags for the first 100 vehicles, a 50/50 raffle every hour, and door prizes every hour.

No drugs, alcohol or fireworks are allowed on city property.
