Tribe netters blank Alma

ALMA – Chesaning’s varsity tennis girls opened their Tri-Valley Conference season with an 8-0 shutout of host Alma on Wednesday, April 11.

At number one singles, Anna Bates won 6-3, 6-0 over Aubrie Dunlap for the Tribe. Casey Hartt won 6-0, 6-0 over Katherine Dvorak at number two. Brooke Miller was a 6-1, 2-0 (default) winner over Kaitlyn Wilson at number three. In the number four slot, Kaylynn Princinsky won 6-1, 6-0 over Megan Radaz.

In doubles play, Chesaning’s number one team of Brooke Keck and Abbey Bitterman won 6-1, 6-3 over Nila Leonard and Christina Armola. The number two team of Jadyn Mathis and Katelynn Ferry won 6-0, 6-1 over Mikayla Guiterreand and Halsey Riesberg. At number three, Bretlyn Warner and Stephanie Coon won 6-0, 6-0 over Lacey Smolka and Halsey Riesberg. At number four, Marra Sadilek and Caleigh Amman won 6-1, 6-0 over Kayla Howey and Anna Lincina.

In exhibition matches, Chesaning’s Tina Chen and Eve Griffin won 9-0 over Sally Warner and Haylee Mayes. Indians Brayton Horning and Kristen Durnaso teamed for a 7-6 (5-1) win over Rebecca Powelson and Hannah Miller.
