MARTHA HELEN DEMBICKY

MARTHA HELEN DEMBICKY, of Brant, 78, beloved mother, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 7, 2018 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. Martha was born on March 22, 1940 in Saginaw and adopted by Mario and Betty Janni. She graduated from Frankenmuth High School and attended airline school. Martha was employed by the Bell Telephone Company and while working there she met and married the love of her life, Jack Dembicky, on June 19, 1965. He preceded her in death in 2007. Martha devoted her life to her husband and their children, Jack and Betty. She was a devoted Christian and represented Christ with her wonderful caring spirit. Martha helped anyone she ever met. She loved cooking, baking for her family and friends, gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables that she grew. Martha was an accomplished knitter and loved to crochet. She would knit a scarf or hat for anyone and donated many to the homeless or those in need. When she was not busy, she loved to go north for recreation. Martha also loved angels, as anyone who ever visited her home knew. Martha led by example for her love of her family, friends, animals, and for her lord and savior. She was the sweetest and most giving person you could meet and she truly earned her wings. She will be dearly missed by everyone whom she touched.

Surviving are her children, son, Jack (Elizabeth) Dembicky, of El Paso, Texas, and daughter, Betty Dembicky, of Brant; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Ethan; sisters, Deborah Daveler, of Maryland and Erla Marionosdottier, of Iceland; brother, David Janni, of Maryland; brothers-in-law, Andrew Dembicky, Steve (Janice) Dembicky, all of Brant, and sister-in-law, Victoria Fowler, of Chesaning; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two beloved cats Buffy and Smoky. Besides her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Patricia Stone. She will be dearly missed by all her friends and family, but especially Barbara Olson, Kristina King, Claude Santino, Shauna McCommon, Kelly Phelps, Todd Phelps, Vicky Manser and Martha’s brother-in-law, Andrew Dembicky, who made her life even more wonderful and comfortable during her final years.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles. Burial followed in Brant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation to be made in her name to either the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. or a food donation be made to the local animal shelter or humane society. www.kendallfuneralhome.net.
