DUANE ROBERT ROUX, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born in Breckenridge on May 14, 1943, to the late Joseph and Beulah (Root) Roux. Duane graduated from St. Charles High School and Cornerstone University (formerly Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College). After graduation, he pastored a church in Kaleva. He and his family worked with several other families and Galilean Missionary Tad Jameson to establish Trinity Baptist Church in St. Charles. Duane was also on the deacon board in Chesaning at Village Baptist Church, where he helped as missionary builders constructed a new building for them. He was retired from both General Motors Central Foundry and Grey Iron after 37 years of service.

Duane is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Karen (Waggoner) Roux, and two daughters, Nicole (Jeffery) Mayhew of Pulaski, Tenn. and Andrea (Justin) Bamberg, of Hemlock; and six grandchildren, Claudia Mayhew, Danielle Mayhew, Georgia Mayhew, Nathaniel Mayhew, Gabriel Mayhew, and Jaela Fairris. He was predeceased by his brothers and sister-in-law, Jule Roux and George Albert Roux, and Cynthia Roux.

Duane has been cremated and will be interred in Brant Township Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of his life and informal memorial service was held at Hopevale Church on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 6 p.m., with Pastor Jerry Larkin officiating. The family wants to honor Duane’s memory as they share the treasured memories of his life. “Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together,” Psalm 34:3. Duane and Karen chose this life verse at the time of their marriage on June 21, 1969. Duane’s life was an example of his faith. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com.
