New Lothrop school board elects officers for 2018

NEW LOTHROP - On Monday, Jan. 15, the New Lothrop Public Schools Board of Education held its annual election of officers. The school board officers for 2018 are president Richard White, vice president Greg Ruddy, secretary Adam Green and treasurer Jessica Unangst.

White, who serves as president, has served on the school board since 1989. He also serves on committees concerning personnel, curriculum, school improvement finance and negotiations.

Ruddy, who serves as vice president, began serving on the New Lothrop school board in 2010. He currently serves on the facilities, transportation, extracurricular and policy committees.

Green, who serves as secretary, has served on the school board since 2013. He also serves on the personnel, curriculum, school improvement, facilities, transportation and extracurricular activities committees.

Unangst, who serves as treasurer, has served on the school board since 2015. She also serves on the personnel, curriculum, school improvement and policy committees.

The New Lothrop School Board trustees include Kevin Birchmeier (since 2010); Jim Eustace (since 2016) and Joseph Henige (since 2017).

Birchmeier serves on the negotiations, finance, as well as being an alternate on personnel, curriculum and school improvement.

Eustace serves on the facilities, transportation, extracurricular activities and policy committees.

Henige serves on the policy committee, as well as an alternate on the facilities, transportation, and extracurricular activities.

During the Jan. 15 meeting, Green accepted reappointment to serve as a liaison on the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB).

Unangst accepted reappointment to serve as New Lothrop’s liaison on the Shiawassee Regional Educational Service District (RESD) board.
