Courtesy Photo Courtesy Photo The Chesaning Sons of the American Legion Squadron #212 Christmas fundraiser for veterans was a successful and rewarding experience. The squadron was able to distribute 35 gift bags, prizes for bingo at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, and provide coats, sweatshirts and other clothing items for homeless veterans, thanks to the generous donations from area businesses. Donors included Horger’s Farm and Auto, The Back Forty Bar and Grill, Harris Insurance Agency, Frey’s Auto Parts, Card Brothers Equipment, Designs by Bean, Frank’s Supermarket, Ace Hardware, Broad St. Pharmacy, the Malt Shop, LaClair Sales, Chapin Telephone Co., Bauman Brothers Auto Parts, Stoddard Homes, Pintown Pizza and Lanes, RE/MAX Tri-County – Howard and Denise Ebenhoeh, Schultz Central Pharmacy, Ed Rehmann and Sons Clothing, Family Rexall Pharmacy – Knight Drugs, Line Street Family Dental – Dr. Hopfensperger and Dr. Ehinger, D’s Party Store, McFarlan’s Pub, Marion Springs General Store, James K. Cantwil DDS, Family Insurance Services, and H&R Block Chesaning. The American Legion also distributed patriotic lap blankets.
