NEW LOTHROP – The New Lothrop Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Nov. 6 to discuss the possibility of placing a sinking fund/bond proposal on an upcoming election ballot.

Representatives from school attorney Thrun Law Firm and PFM financial advisor attended the meeting to discuss the school district’s options.

Superintendent Anthony Berthiaume said, “Working with the board of education, we will be scheduling additional board workshops over the next couple of months to meet with various construction managers and, once selected, complete a facilities audit.”

“Our intention is to develop a needs/priorities list from the facilities audit,” he said. “We are still in the preliminary stages and need to have a facilities audit over the next several months, working with the board of education and various stakeholders throughout the community before we commit to an amount and/or election date.”
