GOVERNMENT MEETINGS

NEW HAVEN TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at the township hall, 2705 E. Easton, Owosso.

HAZELTON TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 at the township office, 7505 Orchard St., New Lothrop.

CHAPIN TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the township hall, 21481 Peet Road, Henderson.

SWAN CREEK TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, in the Township Hall, 11415 Lakefield Road, St. Charles.

OAKLEY VILLAGE COUNCIL will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the village hall, 205 Parshall St., Oakley.

ALBEE TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the township hall, 10645 East Road, Burt.

BRANT TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the township hall, at the corner of Brant and Hemlock Roads, Brant.

CLUBS AND CIVIC GROUPS

• The Chesaning Area Historical Society will meet on Monday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at Chesaning Comfort Care, 1800 W. Brady Road, just west of United Financial Credit Union. The program will be a tour of the facility. Coffee and treats will be provided. The public is invited to attend.

• The ST. CHARLES AMERICAN LEGION POST 468 meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the American Legion Hall, St. Charles.

CHESANING SPORTS BOOSTERS will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in room 401 at Chesaning High School.

• The ST. CHARLES LIONS CLUB meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 301 W. Belle St., St. Charles.

• The MONTROSE BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Montrose Depot, 154 W. State St., Montrose. Visitors should contact the festival email at montroseblueberryfestival@hotmail.com one week prior to the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

RETIREES of Redmonds, Singer, Controls Company, Allied Motions and Motor Products get together on the second Tuesday of each month at noon to talk of old times and just have fun at Ponderosa Steak House, 1441 E. • The BURT AMERICAN LEGION POST #99 meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Burt Opera House, 12888 Nichols Road, Burt.

• The MONTROSE HISTORICAL AND TELEPHONE PIONEER MUSEUM Speaker’s Program will feature author Gary Finn talking about his latest book, “Hidden History of Flint, Michigan” on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the museum, 144 E. Hickory St., Montrose. Finn’s book is full of little known things about Flint. The meeting is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

• The Owosso WFLA-ZCBJ Lodge #242 is taking orders for HOMEMADE DUMPLINGS at the hall, 1775 Owosso Ave., Owosso. Dumplings will be by pre-order only. Orders must be placed by noon on Monday, Nov. 13. The cost is $7 for two dozen. Dumplings will be available for pick-up on Thursday, Nov. 16 from noon to 5 p.m. Call (989) 723- 5926 or (517) 290-1015 to place an order.

• There will be a WET BURRITO DINNER at the St. Charles Masonic Temple every third Friday of the month from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $10. The Masons will also deliver. Call (989) 865-8568.

• The First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop will host a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children. Ages 4 and under eat free. The church is located at 7495 Orchard St. in New Lothrop.

• There will be a FREE DINNER AND A MOVIE for the whole family, featuring Disney’s “Moana” on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop, 7495 Orchard St. A Hawaiian-themed dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the movie at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

• There will be a CHICKEN DINNER on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Henderson United Methodist Church. Take-outs and serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu will include baked chicken, mashed or baked potatoes, corn, cole slaw, biscuits and gravy, and pie or cake. The cost will be by free will donation.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• The Memorial Healthcare free DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at the Owosso Senior Center, 300 N. Washington St.

• The Memorial Healthcare PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets on the third Monday of the month from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at the Memorial Cancer Center, 721 N. Shiawassee St., Owosso. For more information, call (989) 729-4786.

ODDS AND ENDS

• There will be a NEW MUSIC JAM at the Marion Springs Conservation Club, 20390 W. Brant Road, Brant, on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Acoustic instruments only, please. For information, call Jim Van Luven at (989) 845-6721 or Dave Smith at (989) 865-9393. Admission is free.

BAZAARS AND CRAFT SHOWS

• The Oakley Community Church Ladies’ Group will be having its annual CRAFT BAZAAR on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oakley Village Hall. Organizers are looking for crafters and a few vendors. Tables are available for $15. They will be serving lunch and will also be having a bake sale. • Montrose United Methodist Church, 158 E. State St. (M-57), will host a CHRISTMAS BAZAAR AND COOKIE WALK on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors are needed. For information, call Jackie at (810) 639-6812.

• The SANTA’S HELPERS HOLIDAY BAZAAR AT RIVERFRONT will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at Riverfront Grille Banquet Room, 128 N. Front St., Chesaning. There will be lots of crafts, vendors and baked goods, along with a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a Christmas photo booth by Crimi Photography. The bazaar is a fundraiser to adopt local families in need for Christmas through Volunteers of America.

• The Montrose Senior Center, 200 Alfred St., will hold a CRAFT FAIR on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be crafts and baked goods. Vendors are needed. Tables are available for $15. Call (810) 639-2822 for more information.

• St. Peter Parish in Chesaning will host a CRAFT BAZAAR on Friday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be 45 craft vendors with a variety of crafts to choose from. Lunch will be available. Bus drop-off/pick-up will be available for those who want to attend the other craft shows that weekend. Admission is free. CHURCHES

ST. CHARLES SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST COMMUNITY CENTER is open the first and third Thursday of every month from 6:30 until 8 p.m. The center is located at the corner of Clinton and Marcy Streets in St. Charles, and serves those who are in need of gently used clothing, household items and furniture (when available). The center also accept donations of gently used clothing, household items and furniture. Interested persons should stop by if they need assistance or have any questions.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• On Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 1 to 2 p.m., there will be an ESTATE PLANNING PRESENTATION by Joseph Weiler, Jr., certified elder law attorney with Chalgian & Tripp Law Offices. Weiler will lead an in-depth discussion on information pertaining to estate planning. The presentation will be at the Chesaning Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 201 S. Front St., Chesaning. SCHOOLS

CHESANING UNION SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the high school media center.

ST. CHARLES COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the high school library. The meeting was originally scheduled for Nov. 20.
