Tribe wins two of three in busy soccer week

Chesaning’s varsity boys’ soccer team won two of three contests last week as the Tribe rebounded from a 3-1 loss at Hemlock on Monday by beat­ing Shepherd, 1-0, on Wednesday and trouncing Durand on Thursday, 7-3.

Ben Schroeder scored the lone goal for CHS against Hemlock as the Huskies scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game. Lucas Angst had a pair of saves in goal.

Tyler Willing found the back of the net six minutes into the second half to give Chesaning a 1-0 victory at Shepherd on Wednesday, thanks to an assist from Bryce Harrod. Angst came up with 10 saves between the pipes, including 7 in the second half.

Brendan Greenfelder and Willing did all of the scoring in the win over the Railroaders. Greenfelder scored four times and Willing struck pay dirt three times. Cayden Crofoot had a pair of assists while credit for additional assists went to Harrod, Josh Rolfe, Schroeder and Greenfelder. Angst finished with four saves in goal.
