MONTROSE TWP. – On Sept. 19, Montrose Boy Scout Nicholas Dexter addressed the Montrose Township Board to gather feedback on the board’s interest in his proposal to build two volleyball courts at Barber Memorial Park as his Eagle Scout project. By having two courts, the park could host tournaments.

He explained that once they break ground, he expects the project would take five or six weeks to complete.

Trustee Tom Tithof asked whether a layout had been approved.

Township supervisor Mark Emmendorfer said, “Once you know we’re in favor of it, will you be bringing back a design, prior to breaking ground?”

Dexter agreed and said, “I will not be able to break ground before winter; it’ll be next spring.”

Trustee Dar Eldred said, “Thank you for contributing to the development of this community.”
