Chesaning spikers lose to Birch Run, Freeland in week of action

Chesaning’s varsity volleyball team lost twice this past week, falling to Birch Run on the road on Monday and dropping a decision at home to Freeland on Wednesday.

All three sets were highly contested at Birch Run, but the Lady Panthers prevailed, 25-16, 25-21, 25-23.

Katelyn Ferry was active with 21 digs in the contest. Abby Bates kicked in with three kills and two solo blocks while Jadyn Mathis also had two solo blocks.

Two days later, Freeland came to town and the Lady Falcons walked away with a 25-13, 25-13, 25-14 win.

Ferry finished with 10 digs. Bates and Emily Thiel tallied two kills each while Mathis and Grace Maike each finished with three solo blocks.
