Tribe M.S. boys finish sixth, girls eighth at Marauder Invite

Chesaning’s middle school cross country teams ran at the Ovid-Elsie Marauder Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.

The Tribe boys finished sixth out of 12 teams, led by Henry Hill’s 14th place finish in 12:23. He was followed by Luke Walser (13:53), Andrew Sadilek (14:29), Nicholas Healey (15:27) and Brady Coon (15:48).

The Chesaning girls finished eighth. Lilly Skaryd led the way, finishing 14th in a personal best 14:26. She was followed by Emily Smith (15:46), Reid Frasier (16:58), Emily Graham (16:58), Gwen Lapine (17:16), Emmee Hilgendorf (17:27) and Lauren Grimm (21:12).

Chesaning JV spikers beat Merrill in three

Chesaning’s JV volleyball team opened its home schedule last Wednesday by beating Merrill, 19-25, 25-23, 15-7. Jordyn Bishop led the Lady Indians with 11 service points, including 8 aces. Julia Bishop added 11 service points with 4 aces. Leah Keller chipped in with 6 points and 11 digs.

Frosh Lady Indians beat Shepherd in volleyball

Chesaning’s freshman volleyball team swept three straight sets against visiting Shepherd last Wednesday, beating the Bluejays, 25-12, 25-9, 15-9.
