Hill, Skaryd pace Lady Indians at Marauder Invite

ST. JOHNS – Sam Hill and Julia Skaryd led the Chesaning girls cross country team at the Ovid-Elsie Marauder Invitational held Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.

Hill finished in third place in 20:33, while Skaryd was sixth in 20:41. The Indian girls finished sixth overall with 167 points, tied with Ithaca.

Pewamo-Westphalia was first with 30 points, followed by Leslie with 73, Fowler with 113, Byron with 132.

Brooke Stivers finished 57th in 24:12 for Chesaning. Olivia Grover set a new personal record with a 24:44 finish. Alex Harvey rounded out the Indian scorers, taking 85th with a new personal record of 26:47.

Also running for the Chesaning girls were Karlie Lewis (27:18), Julia Lewis (28:05), Brandi Brown (29:22), Maddie Schulte (39:45), Elizabeth Davis (39:59), Olivia Gross (40:26) and Katie Davis (47:48).

Chesaning’s boys finished 13th out of 15 with 320 points. Senior Jakob Buxton led the Tribe, finishing 39th in 20:01. Andrew Fulton was 47th in 20:20. Kaden Liebrock was 76th in 21:27. Also running were Addison James (22:13), Tristan Metzger (27:12), Hunter Lapine (29:39) and Cody Brown (31:08).
