Blueberry Fest kicks off with annual car show Aug. 13

File Photo A pair of car owners show off their classic car at the 2016 Kick-off Car Show. File Photo MONTROSE – The Montrose Blueberry Festival activities get truly underway on Sunday, Aug. 13, with the ninth annual Kick-off Car Show in Lions Park, 2014 Park Street.

Registration runs from 8 to 11 a.m., with judging from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. Vehicles arriving after the registration cut-off will be allowed into the show, but will not be judged.

Pre-registration is $12, and $15 the day of the show. Proceeds will be distributed to local non-profit groups through the Blueberry Festival general fund.

Trophies will be given to the top 25 vehicles. Dash plaques will go to the first 50 vehicles registered. There will be two queen’s choice trophies presented, a grand marshal’s trophy for the best overall vehicle, and an in memoriam trophy presented in honor of Agnes House-Johnson.

There will also be goody bags for the first 100 vehicles, a 50/50 raffle every hour, and door prizes every hour.

No drugs, alcohol or fireworks are allowed on city property.
