SCHOOL BUSES PURCHASED – During the July 10 meeting, the Chesaning Union Schools Board of Education approved the purchase of two 2016 off-lease school buses for $137,789. The buses were purchased with funds from the school district’s school bus and technology bond.

SUMMER RETREAT – The Chesaning Union Schools Board of Education has scheduled its annual summer retreat for Monday, Aug. 14, starting at 6 p.m. The location has yet to be announced.

SPECIAL DATES – Chesaning High School has set its prom and graduation dates for 2018. The school board approved the dates during its July 10 board meeting. Prom will be held May 5 at the D-Marr Banquet Center in Owosso. Graduation will be Thursday, May 24 at the high school athletic field.

MEETING DATES – The Chesaning Union Schools Board of Education has set its 2017- 2018 meeting calendar for the second Monday of each month, with the exception of June of 2018, when the board will meet on the third Monday. The meetings will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Chesaning High School Media Center, unless otherwise noted.

CHAMBER RAFFLE WINNER - The winner of the Chesaning Chamber of Commerce bi-weekly raffle for Wednesday, JUly 12, is Molly Carroll. The guest drawer was Sue Bila, who is the president and CEO of the Michigan Festival & Events Association.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS – During the July 10 meeting, the Chesaning Union Schools Board of Trustees voted to renew several memberships: Michigan Association of School Boards, MASA, Transportation (MAPT), Michigan Institute for Educational Management, Superintendent’s County Association, Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO), Chesaning Chamber of Commerce, and others.
