Former Chesaning High School English teacher Julie Wenzlick recently released her third children’s book, The Day Maisie Picked a Daisy. CHESANING - Retired Chesaning High School English teacher Julie Wenzlick has written her third children’s book, The Day Maisie Picked a Daisy. The book is now available at Broad Street Pharmacy and Hass Vision Center, which is her brothers’ office at 1180 W. Broad.

The new book focuses on the same characters as her previous story The Day Annabelle was Bitten by a Doodlebug. Granddaughters Annabelle and Maisie take off in the Barbie car without asking their mommy. They are in for a big surprise when toddler Maisie innocently picks a daisy from a neighbor’s garden. Little does she know, daisy picking is not allowed. Suddenly the sisters find themselves in deep trouble!

The book contains 46 illustrations created by Jaime Buckley of Utah, who created companion coloring books for both stories. The black ink art from the books is provided so that children can choose their own colors for the images in the books.

“I’m excited to share this new adventure,” said Wenzlick, who thinks children ages 4 – 8 will especially enjoy both stories and the coloring books. Anyone who wants a signed copy can make arrangements by contacting Julie at juliewenzlick@gmail.com or by attending the Downtown Owosso Farmer’s Market on July 29, when Julie will be selling and signing books near the fountain on Ball Street.
