Letters policy

We at the Tri-County Citizen encourage readers to express opinions in the public forum we provide. However, there are several guidelines which must be followed.

• Letters must be submitted by NOON, Thursday the week prior to the next edition.

• Letters must be signed by the author and must include an address and phone number where we can reach the author if we have questions. All names will appear in print. Letters that are unsigned or found not to be authentic will be rejected.

• We will not accept form letters that have been mass mailed or letters that are libelous or written to argue a dispute between private parties, including businesspersons.

• Please limit letters to 500 words or less.

• To make room for a variety of opinions, we ask authors to send no more than one letter every 30 days.

• The Citizen reserves the right to edit and/or reject any and all letters it considers inappropriate.

• We will also limit the number of letters published on any given subject.

The opinions expressed in the letters are not necessarily those of the Citizen. Questions can be directed to Keith Salisbury at (989) 341-4806.
