Preschool Graduation - Thursday, June 1 at 6 p.m. in the elementary gymnasium.

High School Graduation - Sunday, June 4 at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

With graduation day fast approaching, I would like to address our Class of 2017. I still remember the days of watching you guys in the lunch room and then letting you go outside to play tag, catch, or play in a hole which you deemed as the “kissing hole.” You were referred to as the “Bubble Class,” because of how many students were in the class, close to 95 when you started your seventh grade year. Fast forward six years and soon your family and friends will watch you walk across the stage to receive your high school diploma. Although I want you to experience and accomplish all your goals, it is still sad for me to see your class go. Six years have come and gone, but now begins the next chapter of your lives.

My hope is that we have given each of you the foundation you need to be successful after you leave us. With all the accolades you have earned, the most important and meaningful experience for us is to see each of you succeed after you leave us and fulfill the potential that we all know you are capable of achieving. Watching each of you grow and mature has been a humbling experience for all of us. Each of you has left a mark on New Lothrop with your personalities and character you have exemplified in and out of the classroom. I want to personally thank each one of you. On behalf of the staff and New Lothrop Area Public Schools, we congratulate you on this great accomplishment and wish you all the very best in whatever path you decide to take. This is not goodbye; graduation is merely a celebration of what you have accomplished so far, with the anticipation of greater things to come. Remember to pass on what you have learned, work hard, and know that we are always here for you. Set your sights high, because this is only the beginning. Congratulations to the Class of 2017 and enjoy this moment, you have earned and deserve it.

As a district and community, we applaud our students’ efforts and achievements at all levels. We take great pride in making sure we offer the best education possible to our students in the classroom and through our extra-curricular activities. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My office phone number is (810) 638-5091.

Yours in Education,
Anthony Berthiaume, Ph.D.
