Lady Indians drop twinbill to visiting Bullock Creek
The Tribe hung tough until the visiting Lady Lancers broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third by scoring five runs en route to an 11-1 triumph.
“We had some defensive miscues that cost us a few runs, but, overall, we played very solid,” assessed CHS coach Ron Poyer.
Jordyn Bishop led Chesaning with a pair of hits while Julia Bishop added a double. Elizabeth Coon and Miranda Dodak each singled in the contest.
BC utilized a big second inning rally in the nightcap to secure a 12-2 decision.
Chesaning managed just three hits as Haylei Drope stroked a pair of safeties and Jordyn Bishop added a single.
“After how we played in our first two doubleheaders, I was happy to see the girls come out and be somewhat competitive against a very good Bullock Creek team,” said Coach Poyer, whose squad is now 1-5 overall. “Had we played like that we would not have lost our prior games. It is definitely something we can build on for the coming weeks.”
