Chesaning area walleye tourney returns April 29

The Chesaning Area Conservation Club’s third annual Chesaning area walleye tournament will be held Saturday, April 29. The contest begins at 5 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. The boundaries are limited to the Shiawassee River – all waters south of the Parshallburg dam to Owosso and north to where the Shiawassee River meets the Bad River (radial or flood gates).

Weigh-in will be at Back Forty Bar and Grill, 15952 Oakley Road (at the corner of M-52 and M-57), Chesaning.

Contestants are allowed to weigh one walleye only, so they should choose accordingly. First through eighth place prizes are donated by Ed Rehmann and Sons Clothing of Chesaning. All contestants will be eligible to win the many door prizes.

Participation is open to everyone. Those over age 16 must possess a valid Michigan fishing license. All contestants must complete and sign an official entry form, which must be returned with a $10 entry fee no later than midnight on Friday, April 28.

Entry forms can be picked up and turned in at the Chesaning Chamber of Commerce, Ed Rehmann and Sons Clothing, Chesaning Ace Hardware, The Riverfront Grille, McFarlan’s Pub or the Back Forty Bar and Grill. Entry forms are also available online at www.chesaningareaconservationclub.com. Completed forms can be mailed to Gary Dankert, 303 Main St., Chesaning, MI 48616.
