STC Beautification Day needs volunteers

Letters to the editor

To the Friends and Supporters of Beautification Day,

Thank you so much for supporting this great event every year.

After 42 consecutive years of Beautification Day, we’re looking forward to continuing to beautify our community this year.

As we look ahead to May 19, the Beautification Day Committee hopes to make this a year of Restoration and Rejuvenation: A time to strengthen and improve the foundation the roots- of this program.

So in that spirit, our focus will be to do what we are already doing even better.

And just like plants need water to grow; these community improvements are fed by the donations that we receive from you. So please help us feed this program once again.

Preparations are underway for this year’s event on May 19. The day starts at 8 a.m. in the High School Gymnasium with a brief slideshow of years past and then the teachers, students, and volunteers proceed with their classes to their assigned garden.

If you are unable to join us on that day, there are other ways you can help:

• Make a financial contribution.

• Adopt a garden. Give it love, a little weeding and water over the summer and into the fall, flowers are provided or add your own if you wish.

• Become a member of our Beautification Day committee.

If you have questions, you can contact Doug Holem at (989) 780-4054 or email him at douglasholem@gmail.com.

Thank you again for your continued support as we work to make our community a better and more beautiful place to live.

Please join us on Facebook at STC Beautification Day. Please make checks payable to St. Charles Community Schools; add “Beautification Day” to the memo line. Mail to: St. Charles High School, 881 West Walnut St., St. Charles, MI 48655.
