Book Discussion Group: Our selection for the April book discussion is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Stop by the library and pick up a copy then join us on Wednesday, April 20, at 7 p.m.

Friends of the Library Fundraiser: The Friends group have $10 raffle tickets on sale for a weekend getaway at the Riverview Lodge in Grayling. This prize is valued at $2000, was generously donated by Damion Frasier and Kristin Richardson. The winning ticket (one of only 200) will be drawn during the Reading Between the Vines wine tasting event on April 16. You need not be present to win. Show your support for the Friends, and stop by the library to purchase your tickets today!

Mahtob Mahmoody to Visit: On Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m., Mahtob Mahmoody will be speaking at the Chesaning Middle School on her book My Name is Mahtob. This event is free of charge and is on a first-come basis. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Mahtob and her mother, Betty Mahmoody will be on hand afterwards to sign books. A huge

Junior Book Club: The Junior Book Club will be reading and discussing the participants’ own personal favorite book for the April meeting. Kids, join us on April 21 at 4:30 p.m. share your all-time favorite book with your friends. As always, we will supply the snacks!

Spring Art Fair: The friends of the library will once again be holding their spring art fair. It will be held April 11-16. Participants can begin dropping their exhibits off on Thursday, April 7 between 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 9 between noon – 4 p.m.

Tech Time: Tuesdays at 1 pm. Ethan is ready to help with all your technical needs.

The Genesee District Library will be closed for Spring Break March 25-27.

Effective April 1, the St. Charles District Library will no longer be open on Saturday due to operating budget reductions.

The adult coloring group will meet on Friday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. New coloring members are welcome! Participants can use the library materials or bring their own supplies, whichever they prefer.

The St. Charles District Library Board will meet on Sunday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Book Discussion Group will meet on Monday, April 4, at 6 p.m. to discuss the book Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan.

The Friends of the Library Spring Book and Bake will be Thursday, April 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, April 8 from 100 a.m. to 5 p.m. Books are $3.00 donation per bag provided.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (until March 26).

The branches of the Community District Library have the following Spring Break activities for school aged children planned at the New Lothrop branch. Preregistration is required because of space limitations. Phone (810) 638-7575 to register.

Monday, April 4 will be spring story time and crafts from 6 to 7 p.m.

Tuesday, April 5 will be afternoon at the movies from 2 to 3 p.m. Contact the staff to learn what movie will be shown.

Wednesday, April 6 will be a ceramic tile coaster class from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 7 will be a fairy garden class from 2 to 3 p.m.

The Community District Library also has events planned for adults in coming weeks. On Wednesday, April 6 there will be a memory hand mirror class at the New Lothrop branch at 6 p.m. Call the library at (810) 638-7575 for the supply list.

Then on Monday, April 11, there will be a cooking demonstration with Ming Louie at 6 p.m. Call the library for more information.
