CHESANING – On Friday, Aug. 28, the Chesaning community celebrated the grand opening of the Chesaning Union Schools sports complex named Orra C. Morningstar Field. The event drew hundreds of spectators for the pre-game celebration. Chesaning Sports Boosters John Keys and Mark Devereaux had the honor of cutting the ribbon to officially open the complex before the varsity high school football game between Chesaning and St. Charles. Chesaning won 47-6.

Before the ribbon cutting, Superintendent Mike McGough introduced Chesaning High School Alumni Doug Corrin, who addressed the crowd, saying he attended Chesaning High School when the building first opened. They didn’t have a sports complex back then. He told the crowd to remember this day.

Dale Tithof also spoke at the dedication, talking about how proud he is of the Chesaning community for supporting this project.
