Chesaning Cub Scouts thanks sponsors of annual Blue and Gold Banquet for support

Dear Editor,

On February 28 Chesaning Cub Scout Pack 3335 held its annual Blue and Gold Banquet. This banquet is a celebration of scouting as well as the official graduation of Cub Scouts who are crossing over to become Boy Scouts.

Chesaning Scouts would like to thank the following local businesses who contributed or donated items for our silent auction fundraiser. This helps us pay for all of the awards and cover the cost of the banquet. We would like to acknowledge; Trinity United Methodist Church, Ace Hardware, Designs by Bean, Broad St. Pharmacy, Ed Rehmann and Son’s Clothing, The Showboat Restaurant, Self Serve Lumber, Heritage Tire and Service, The Malt Shop, M-57 Surplus, Horger’s Farm and Auto, Frey’s Auto Parts, Rojas Carpets, ZCI Feed, Swartzmiller Lumber, D’s Party Store, Julie Burdick, and Subway.

We appreciate all of your support for Chesaning Cub Scouts. From all of us here at Pack 3335, “Thank you!”

Cubmaster Doug Laskowski

Name mistakenly added to Oakley list

To Whom it May Concern:

According to a Saginaw News reporter, somehow my name is on the list of donors to the situation in Oakley. I would like to let it be known what happened, as I did not make a donation.

After looking into it, it was found that money that I had paid for hall rent had mistakenly gotten posted by someone (other than Cheryl) in the wrong account.

Hopefully, that is one item that has been cleared up, and the same will apply to any others that might be out there.

Chesaning Kiwanis Club says ‘thanks’

Chesaning Area Residents,

The Kiwanis Club of Chesaning thanks everyone who has generously supported our club for the past 32 years. Through your generosity, we have supported programs like Student of the Week, Key Club Leadership Camp, the Baker College Scholarship, the Police Academy, Christmas Baskets, and Relay for Life. Other programs are the Chesaning Museum, the Michigan Foundation, the Rehmann Health Center, and the River Rapids Library. Plus, the Kiwanis Club has sponsored Halloween in the Park, Toys for Kids (American Legion) and Santa’s Village.

We are proud of starting and maintaining the HS Key Club and the MS Builders Club. Thanks you again, Chesaning area residents, for supporting the many community services that we do each year.
