CHESANING GIRLS GOLF TEAM HOSTS SCRAMBLE – The Chesaning girls golf team will host a scramble on Saturday, July 19, at Twin Brooks Golf Course in Chesaning. The cost is $50 per person, with a cook-out after. Shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. Players can register at the golf course.

DICK HAUGHTON BENEFIT GOLF OUTING – Twin Brook Golf Course in Chesaning will be hosting a fundraiser golf scramble to benefit Dick Haughton at noon on Sunday, Aug. 3. The cost is $50 per person. There will also be a sign-up sheet for those wishing to attend the chicken dinner only at 5 p.m. The cost is $10. The sign-up board will be in the clubhouse. HOLE IN ONE – Buddy McDowell, of New Lothrop, shot a hole in one on Sunday, June 29 at Briar Ridge Golf Course on Hole 17. He made the 145 yard shot with a nine iron. Witnesses were Bill and wife Pat Davis. This was the first hole in one for the New Lothrop assistant golf coach.

FUTURE HORNET BASKETBALL CAMP OFFERED – New Lothrop varsity boys basketball coach Brady Simon will be conducting a future Hornet basketball camp July 7-11 for all boys entering grades 3-8 in the New Lothrop Elementary School gym. Session 1 for grades third-fifth will be from 9 to 11 a.m., and Session 2 for grades sixth through eighth will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $50. All major aspects of the game will be covered in detail. All campers will participate in a variety of basketball-related contests throughout the camp, and games will be played daily. Awards will be given to contest winners on the last day of camp. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt, which will be individually sized on the first day of camp.
