The Book Discussion Group is reading Wine to Water by Doc Hendley for our October book. We will be meeting Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. Stop in and pick up a copy to enjoy. Bring a friend; there will be yummy refreshments and much fun!

The River Rapids District Library Board meeting has been changed to Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6:45 p.m. at the library. The public is welcome!

Fall Computer Classes coming soon:

Basic Internet - For this workshop you must know how to type, even if it is the hunt and peck method. This class will cover Internet, Web browsers, home pages, hypertext, menus and toolbars. Class will meet on Mondays, Oct. 14 and 21 from 2–3 p.m.

Microsoft Word - This class will cover screen layout, tips for typing in Word 2010, some basic editing such as selecting, replacing, inserting, using bullets and spell checking, using Print Preview, saving, closing, opening, printing and some helpful quick commands. Class will meet on Tuesdays, Oct. 15 and 22 from 2–3 p.m.

Microsoft Excel - This class will cover the basics of spreadsheets, formulas and charts. You must have prior computer experience for this class. Class will meet on Thursdays, Oct. 17 and 24 from 6:30–7:30 p.m. eReaders - Bring in your eReader to learn about downloading library eBooks on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. Individual appointments can be made if this day do not meet your needs.

Facebook for Businesses - Want to get in on the fastest growing trend in marketing? Learn how to set up (or improve) your business’s Facebook page. There will also be a short preview of other successful social media options for your business. Please pre-register, as only 12 spots are available. Class will be held on Monday, Sept. 30, from 1–3 p.m.

Tech Time - This time is for you to have individual technology questions answered. Please bring in your questions and your device, if you wish. We will have laptops available to use as well. No registration is necessary. There will be several sessions held throughout the fall: Thursday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.,Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m.
