ST. Charles superintendent interviews set for Feb. 26 & 27


ST. CHARLES – Wednesday, the St. Charles Community Schools Board of Education selected their top two candidates in the superintendent search for second interviews; Jonathan Good will be interviewed on Feb. 26 and Michael Decker on Feb. 27. Both interviews are open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. at the Golden Glow Resturant, 2950 S. Graham Street, Saginaw (corner of Swan Creek and Graham roads).

Jonathan M. Good is the current principal at Freeland High School, including responsibilities with curriculum and budgeting. He also worked as a principal in Cass City and co-principal and assistant principal in Bad Axe; he worked as a science teacher from 1992-1998 before entering administration.

He received his bachelor’s degree in earth science and mathematics education from Central Michigan University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Governors State University and an education specialist degree in educational administration from Saginaw Valley State University. Good currently resides in Freeland.

Michael R. Decker currently leads Jefferson Middle School (Midland) as principal, including experience in curriculum and finance. He also worked as a principal at Bullock Creek and an assistant principal, coach and teacher at Heritage High School (Saginaw Township). He also currently teaches business management classes at Northwood University, where he previously worked as the director of registrar services.

Decker has worked in K-12 education since 1992 and at Northwood from 1986- 1991. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northwood in 1985, and a teaching certification and masters in administration from Central Michigan. He currently lives in Midland.
