Area football teams host first round games

     Three Tri-County Citizen area teams will host first round Michigan High School Athletic Association playoff games this Friday night.
      In Division 8 the 9-0 New Lothrop Hornets received a No. 2 seed in Region 3, Distirct 1 after tying with No. 1 seed Fowler (9-0) at 76.444 points. The Eagles won the No. 1 seed on a tiebreaker.
      New Lothrop will play host to No. 3 seed Ashley (8-1, 59.444) at 7 p.m. at Hornet Field.
      Fowler will host host Fulton (5-4, 41.333) in a 7 p.m. Friday night game.
      In Division 6, Montrose earned the No. 1 seed in Region 2, District 2 with a 7-2 record and 75.111 playoff points. The Rams will host No. 4 seed Vassar (6-3, 49.556) at 7 p.m. at Bob Hayes Field.
      On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 seed Beecher (6-3, 64.444) will host No. 3 seed Sandusky (7-2, 57.222), also at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
      Also in Division 6, in Region 2, District 1, St. Charles earned a No. 2 seed with a 6-3 record and 54.667 points. The Bulldogs will host No. 3 seed Sanford Meridian (6-3, 53.444) at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
      On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed Ithaca (9-0, 78.222) will host No. 4 seed Laingsburg (6-3, 47.222) at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
      Should they both advance, the Rams and the Bulldogs could face each other in a regional final game.
