Travis Maike, a 2010 graduate of Chesaning High School, plans to pursue a bachelor of science degree in professional tennis management with a concentration in marketing at Ferris State University. Maike selected the professional tennis management program because of the long line of PTM students who have come from Chesaning. As a child growing up in Chesaning, Maike was always at the courts, participating in summer camps and tournaments. He hoped that one day he would be able to attend the tennis management program. He is now getting his opportunity and hopes to become a tennis instructor. Ferris State University provides practical, hands-on education to make its graduates immediately employable in their chosen fields in a diverse array of technical and professional programs. Ferrris' PTM program was established in 1986 and was the first in the nation to offer a four year degree in tennis accredited by the United States Professional Tennis Association. The program boasts a 100 percent placement rate of its graduates.
