Hornets take first at Carrollton CARROLLTON – Both the New Lothrop boys and girls cross country squads captured first place at the six-team Carrollton Invitational last Tuesday. The boys scored 89 points and the girls had 76 points. Birch Run was runner-up in both races. Leading the Hornets on the boy’s side was Mitch Sovis who was second in a time of 18:45. Jonathan Kniper (20:10) was fifth, Sean Vincki (20:03) sixth, Mitch Delemeester (20:43) 11th and Mitch Graves (20:50) 12th. Also running for New Lothrop were Brandon Rivette (21:29), Steven Chappelle (22:56), Brandon Praski (23:12), Gavin Bennett (23:16), Matt Knieper (23:23), Bela Nemeth (23:28), Jacob Brown (24:04), Adam Ashley (25:15), Lorenzo Facinelli (26:50), Cory Harris (29:53), Ryan Angst (30:39) and Austin Parsons (31:20). Julie Johnson won the girls race for the Lady Hornets in a time of 23:31. Rachel Vincke (24:26) was fourth, Morgan Vrable (25:58) sixth, Marisa Birchmeier (26:34) eighth and McCall Conley (26:40 ninth, Also competing were Kelsey Bacon (27:35), Arrianne Klier (27:56), Courtney Seamon (28:48), Marrissa Angst (28:49), Rachel Carlton (28:49), Olivia Moody (28:55), Corina Bitterman (31:18), Kaelyn Clolinger (31:31), Natalie Henige (35:45), Shelby Bishop (36:20) and Jolien Weytens (37:24). |
