Macy’s, the Library of Michigan Foundation, and the Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan are pleased to welcome the Genesee District Library system to the very popular Museum Adventure Pass program.

The program is a partnership between 198 metro area libraries and 28 local arts and cultural organizations. This program will provide GDL card holders with free passes to museums, cultural centers, and historical sites located in the Greater Detroit area. Although Genesee County attractions aren’t currently included in this program, the GDL offers discounts and free admission to the Whiting, Sloan Museum, and Crossroads Village from time to time. The Museum Adventure Pass program, presented by Macy’s was designed to enhance the learning experience for people of all ages through books and other library materials, and to provide access to arts and cultural organizations. Each Museum Adventure Pass is redeemable for two or four admissions depending on the location.

Libraries have a limited number of passes for each participating organization.

Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved, renewed or requested through interlibrary loan. Other restrictions may apply. See library for details.

One Museum Adventure Pass may be checked out per person, per loan period. The loan period is seven days. Up to two or four people may be admitted on each pass. Please visit www.detroitadventurepass.org for a list of participating museums and more information about the program. The series runs through Oct. 24.

The Award winning Genesee District Library operates 19 locations throughout Genesee County except in the City of Flint. In addition to our wide variety of reading materials, we also offer access to computers, wireless Internet, digital downloads, DVDs, music, and programming for the entire family. Services are also available for those requiring special accommodations through our Talking Book Center/Homebound Department.
