Block Party to help fight cancer

By Hillary Grigonis Staff Reporter

ST. CHARLES – A block party on May 15 will allow the entire community to get involved in raising funds to fight cancer. The event, offering a variety of activities for all ages, serves as a fundraiser for Relay For Life.

The event begins at noon at Lumberjack Park and the St. Charles Haunted House area and continues until 5 p.m.

Sound Impact DJ will offer music as visitors enjoy kids games, yard and bake sales, face painting, concessions, photo opportunities and more. Dave Alvera will also offer barbeque favorites.

The event is admission free. Kids games are a quarter each or six for $1. Proceeds from the event will go towards Relay For Life, as the St. Charles Haunted House Association’s team participates in the event on May 22-23.

Relay for Life, a 24-hour relay event, raises awareness and funds to fight cancer through the American Cancer Society. The St. Charles area event will be held May 22-23 at the St. Charles High School track.
