ST. CHARLES – Hartley Outdoor Education Center has joined the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce to bring more opportunities for the community during the annual children’s Christmas celebration.

The event, set for Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m., will be held at Hartley this year, 12633 Beaver Road in St. Charles. The new location will allow for more opportunities for the kids, Chamber President Steve Harris said.

The traditional favorites like visits with Santa, cookie decorating, coloring, hot chocolate and a bike raffle (for children under 13), will all be a part of the event at Hartley’s main lobby. But the new venue also allows visitors to experience a pioneer Christmas at Schroeder Cabin and to slip and slide down the sledding hill (weather permitting).

Harris said the event aims to just bring the community together for the holidays at a free event.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to help feed local families during the holidays.

Christmas at Hartley is jointly sponsored by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce and Hartley Outdoor Education Center.
